What personal information we collect when you use this website or send us an enquiry, why we collect it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.
Who we are
This website is run by Kili Aventura, a tour operator based in Arusha, Tanzania. For any question about your personal information, contact us through our contact page.
What we collect when you send an enquiry
When you fill in an enquiry or quote form, we collect what you type in: your name, email address and, if you give them, your phone or WhatsApp number, country, travel dates, number of travellers, the trip you are interested in, your budget and your message.
We also record how you found the website, so we know which pages and campaigns help people plan their trips: the page you first landed on, the website that referred you, any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source or a Google Ads click ID) and the page you sent the form from. We store a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string to help us spot spam. We cannot get your IP address back from the hash.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and plan and quote your trip.
- To send you the information you asked for, by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- To understand which pages and campaigns lead to enquiries, so we can improve the website.
- To protect the website from spam and abuse.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for newsletters unless you ask to receive them.
To arrange a booking, we share the details needed with the people who provide your trip, such as national park authorities for permits and the hotels, lodges and camps where you stay.
Cookies
This website uses a small number of cookies:
- Session and security cookies keep forms working and protect them against cross-site request forgery. The session cookie expires after two hours without activity.
- ka_attr remembers how you first arrived on the site (landing page, referrer and campaign tags) for 90 days, so an enquiry can be credited to the right source. It contains no name or contact details.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are only set if you click Accept on the analytics prompt. If you decline, these tools are not loaded.
We also count page views and clicks on our contact links on our own server, without third-party cookies. These records are deleted after about 13 months.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to reply, plan and run your trip, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details on our contact page, and we will reply as soon as we can.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date below.
