Kilimanjaro and Safari
Climb Kilimanjaro and go on safari in one trip. The climb comes first, then a few days in the parks while your legs recover.

Kilimanjaro climbs to combine
How does a Kilimanjaro and safari trip work?
Most combined trips climb first and go on safari after. Climbing while your legs are fresh makes sense, and a safari is mostly spent sitting in a vehicle, which is ideal recovery. You spend a night in Moshi or Arusha between the two, then set off for the parks. A seven- or eight-day climb plus a three- to five-day safari fits into about two weeks including arrival and departure days.
Planning both together means one arrival and one departure, no gaps between the two parts and a single contact for the whole trip.
Frequently asked questions
Should I do the safari before or after climbing?
After is usually better: you climb with fresh legs and recover on safari. Some travellers prefer the safari first to get over jet lag, which also works.
How long does a Kilimanjaro and safari trip take?
Around 12 to 16 days including arrival and departure days, depending on the length of the climb and the safari.
